Cycling

5th class have started cycling. They are taking part in cycling lessons every Thursday for 6 weeks. They are really enjoying learning new tips and tricks on their bikes.

Special Guest: John Gallagher ESB

On Friday 27th May we had a very special guest on TEAMS to speak to us about Energy, Electricity and Hydroelectric power. John Gallagher from the ESB spoke to Fifth class all about the work the ESB do in Ireland and their exciting plans for the future. We talked about the future of electric cars and the need for more charging points around Ireland.🚙🏭 John encouraged the girls to get involved in Science, Engineering and STEM in the future.  It was an excellent talk.

Wassily Kandinsky In art last week we were learning about the artist Wassily Kandinsky. We loved his painting 'Squares with Concentric Circles' so we painted our own.  Silhouette Self Portaits These are our Silhouette Self Portraits that we have been working on. Inside our portraits we have drawn all the things that make us who we are e.g. Family, Favourite Things, Hobbies, Flags Geography: Buildings & Settlements  In geography we have been learning about buildings and settlements. We learnt about loads of different building and their uses. We completed a short project in groups. We planned and designed new towns, we included roads and loads of different buildings. Here is a picture of our town plans.
