Special Guest: John Gallagher ESB

On Friday 27th May we had a very special guest on TEAMS to speak to us about Energy, Electricity and Hydroelectric power. John Gallagher from the ESB spoke to Fifth class all about the work the ESB do in Ireland and their exciting plans for the future. We talked about the future of electric cars and the need for more charging points around Ireland.🚙🏭 John encouraged the girls to get involved in Science, Engineering and STEM in the future.  It was an excellent talk.

Over the last month in Art, the girls have been learning about colour theory and mixing paints. We created the colour wheel and then made our impression Wassily Kandinsky's concentric circles.

The Normans

In fifth class over the past few weeks the girls have been learning about the Normans. In groups the girls had to plan, design and make their own Norman Castle/Motte & Bailey Castles using recycled items. They really enjoyed making these castles.
